Mara either means "bitter" or people think it does. It's such an ancient name, it's hard to be certain. And you seem to have invented a kind of merger between Amalie and Mara, so presumably the meaning would be A + M. Click on them, and you'll find what they mean separately.

I did some research myself. Although your idea of it being a merging between Amalie and Mara makes very much sense it really put a damper on the meaning of the name. Their merge would make Amaralie mean "bitter work". So, I found something better. What about Amaralie being a merging name between the greek names Amarilia and Amara. The meaning of Amaralie would change from "bitter work" to "She who shines" and "Eternally beautiful". Unless of course those are wrong meanings of the greek names I mentioned.
