I love Gideon. It's a name I'm considering myself for my next son, especially as a mn.
Gideon is not popular, but it is more popular than it used to be, and I predict it will climb much higher. It's on my own list of names to watch over the next few years.
The good news is the fact that Gideon doesn't have an easy nn and its association with the Gideons and their hotel room Bibles will be too much for some parents to overcome. That should help to keep it from becoming too popular.
