[Opinions] I know...
I said it's usually the man. Either way, I think it's an odd tradition. I'm all for honoring loved ones, family members, historical figures, etc. but when parents name their children after themselves I can't help but find it a big egotistical.

hmm I guess I se it as honouring [m]just like honouring anyone else. To each their own. My own daugther if I named her Lake her MN would be Sabrina.

I agreeJust because they had the kid, doesn't mean that the kid IS them. I don't mind if one name is used (ex. father named Morgan Lee Jones, son named Jacob Morgan Jones) but when the whole thing is the same as a parent it irks me.

Why? They made the kid. They'll be the ones raising him or her. Surely they're just as worthy of honoring as anyone else.
