Since Madeleine isn't prn Made-lynn, I really doubt anyone would call her "Made".

Madleen looks like "Mad lean"-- it's the opposite of Happy Fat.

I also much prefer Madeleine. If anything she'd be called Maddie (though personally I'd try to curb that from the get go.)
