It’s been one year, and the kids are doing well.
Ellylon and Pallas, our two dogs, have become quite the pair. Ellylon was just only a few months old when she first arrived with Siarl, but she’s grown up quite a bit—and, thankfully, no longer digs up our gardens!
Alexei and Evander have really bonded. They read together every night before bed, and are currently in the middle of the first book in the Redwall series. Alexei started first grade this year and is really enjoying it. He’s learning to read and write in English and does tutoring at school to help with that. We’re all impressed with how well he’s picking it up.
Siarl is picking up English easily because he’s so young, and is becoming very talkative. He’s quite the handful, though, always into something! We can get him to sit still for activities like painting, but even then he has to be watched so he doesn’t make a mess. We’ve put up most of his paintings in his bedroom—it’s getting quite colorful in there.
Mireille already spoke some English when she came to live with us, and now she’s nearly fluent. She reads all the time, and we have quite a job getting her to stop. She’ll read anything she can get her hands on. She also loves ballet class, which we enrolled her in, and is learning a lot.
Thank you for these wonderful children. It’s hard to imagine life now without them!
