In the past five years, a lot has happened for the Newells. Two years ago, Ben Jr. took off for New York City to try his hand at being a professional writer. He broke the heart of a young Becky Robinson when she left, but she and her family have since moved out of town and Becky Newell no longer corresponds with the young girl. Eliza married Eli Peterson four years ago. The two of them have three children--Tommy, Ella, and Gracie. Stephen has been helping Ben more and more with the dairy cows. He and his girlfriend of two years, Sarah Morris, got married a few months ago. Sarah Newell is engaged to be married in a few weeks as well. Her boyfriend of three years, Aaron Lessing, is a carpenter and he makes wonderful furniture and knickknacks. Ben Sr. and Becky are slowly clearing out the nest. Of their eight children, only five still live at home.
