Adalie could possibly be related to Adelaide maybe? That was the first name that came to my mind. Or maybe it's related to Adalia (it's both a place in Turkey and a genus of ladybugs).

Well yes, as both Adelaide and Adelheid are derived from Adelheidis, Adalie would also be related to Adelaide but Adelaide is not used in Germany. So if Adalie really is a German name, it would have to be derived from Adelheid. If you like you can check out the family tree of Adelaide here: http://www.behindthename.com/php/tree.php?name=adelaideAgain IF Adalie is German, I doubt it to be derived from either a place name or a genus of ladybugs because this is not a tradition in Germany and is against current naming laws.
