[Opinions] Re: Mazie
in reply to a message by Julie
I adore the name Maisie (prefer this spelling, also pronounced MAY-zee) but preferably as a nn for Margaret or Mairead (which rhymes with "parade"). But if it was a family name for you, I think you have 'license' to use it as a formal name, and I've seen it used that way before, also. Also, my grandmother's name was Elsie and I prefer a longer name as either a fn or mn to honor her, if I ever have a daughter, but it would be "ok", imo, to use it as a formal name, esp. since she's being named after her gm. Does that make sense? :b
BTW, I know a little girl named after her grandmothers and her last name starts with a Z, so she's Mabel Audrey Z. And they call her Maizie, this spelling. Cute. :)
