I like the sound of Valerie, and even like Val as a nn. My next door neighbor is named Trudy, short for Gertrude. She's an amazing woman, from Germany--strong and handsome, so now I have those associations with the name Trudy. I think I prefer True, though that's not a name I'd ever use--maybe as a mn.
