The first thing that I think of when I see
Chase is that it's a verb. It makes any combination more of a phrase:
Chase Michael becomes, "Run, run!
Chase Michael!" I have other names that I love that could fall into that category too, like
Piers ("pierce") and
Marius ("marry us"). But I have other associations that save them. Plus, they don't have the following down-side.
The other aspect of
Chase that I don't like is that it makes me think of the
Chase Manhattan Bank (or JPMorgan
Chase). Any name that so obviously reminds me of money I find tacky, sorry. Again, other positive references I have for
Morgan save it from this fate. But I just haven't any for
Chase so he's not my cup of tea. Sorry. :-/
