For me, this name will forever be tied to the adorably, charmingly quriky character of Isola Pribby and her parrot
Zenobia in "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society". I love this book and the name fits the character to a tee.
But using it in real life? Nah, I just can't see that. All I see is the Italian word for island... I think it's just too eccentric for *me*.
Then again,
Isla is used. I know, I know, different etymology, history, pronunciation and all that. I guess all I mean to say is... maybe it could work after all.
