I met a girl last week named
Brooke. I know it's a popular name but as I was driving home I thought to myself, I wonder why "
Meadow" isn't catching on. Honestly, you almost forget that
Brooke is a stream.
River is getting popular too now and trendy.
Willow is acceptable. I met someone last year who named his son
Forrest. Why not
Meadow? It has the trendy "ow' ending similar to
Shiloh or
Harlow and is a nature theme...I think it could take off. I actually kinda like it the more I think about it.
It would stand out and be a "hippy nature" name at first but maybe it would become as commonplace as
Brooke down the line. And anyway, most names that end in -ly mean meadow or clearing. For instance,
Kimberly means
King's
Meadow or
Ashley means from the
Ash tree clearing. Why not cut out the middle man? It would be easier on a girl but the right boy might be able to rock it. I'd use it for a girl though, personally. I could see
Meadow aging well and people would definitely remember her name. I say go for it!
