My mom and aunt are identical twins, with my mom being named Rebecca and my aunt Roberta. They go by the nicknames Becky and Bobbie.
As far as opinions go, my aunt hates her real name! Her nickname sort of eclipses it. Most people know her better as Bobbie, even formally.
