[Opinions] Re: Rheua
No, I've never met a Rheua or seen the name before but a google search shows quite a few people with the name and it also appears to be in use as a surname. Didn't come across any origin information. To me, it does look like "ROO-uh". If it didn't have the "a" on the end, I would guess it might be "ROO". Sound-wise, I do enjoy Ruth, and Rue as a nickname or middle name. Do I like it? Can't honestly say the spelling is apealing to me but I'm game to let it simmer a while and see if I become accustomed. I've recently warmed to Gertrude, so you never know. Would I use it? If it were to grow on me and become a favorite, I might consider it as a middle name but, no, I would not consider using it as a first name because the pronunciation is so counterintuitive for English-speakers. I would also want to have an idea of the meaning of the name, if it is known, before deciding whether to use it.ETA: Did a little more googling. I recognize the component "Rheu" as "ROO" because of terms like "Rheumatoid", "Rheumatic", etc, so I searched on just that component rather than your full name. Haven't come across a meaning yet, but I do see that Le Rheu is a place in France.
