Doesn't it mean something like, "nice view"? That ruins it for me regardless of anything else - too much of a place name, and unfortunate as a first name because it makes it sound like the value being honored is visual appeal (of a person). Then there is an association with Simone de Beauvoir, which is sort of risque (not that I think it should be, but I think it is).Without considering those things it just seems self-consciously French along the lines of Devereaux, Beauregard, D'Artagnan etc which gives it a "romantic character" air in English.- mirfak
