[Opinions] Re: Italian Names 2017! 12
Hi Perrine !!!I'm glad that you like writing long comments!So..
Francesco is very very bored and so overused!
But the Pope is increasing its popularity more and more.
I dislike it (but I love François).
I agree with you that it would go with Anna and Alessandra (both overused and pretty boring as well imo).If I were the mother (with a little Francesco) I would use Serena, Clarissa, Dorotea, Diana, Anastasia, Esmeralda, Rossella, Diletta, Bianca, Lara, Allegra, Ines, Miriam, Marta, Veronica, Gioia. Uncertain about Virginia. It is the first time that I hear Futura.
But sometimes also Italian parents are creative.
I prefer Fortuna (it means luck but also fate/destiny refered to Roman myths).Yeah the names you said are dated while Virginia has a pretty classic, aristocratic and literarian vibe (so not strongly dated).Penelope..
You are right.. its beginning is the reason why it is unattractive..also because Italian usually short names simply with the beginning so everyone who likes Penelope is worried for future teasings (the word is right?)
I think it is popular because unusual and because of Mythology (It is not perceived as "Spanish").
I used to like when I was younger because it is Mythological and also I've always shortened it as Penny (a lovely name that I like as full name too) but growing up I found that the most of people are quite lazy to give nicknames and use simply "Pene" so..just not.Diletta is handsome!! XD
It is like Désirée..
We also have Desiderata, Desideria but they are so dated that they will exinct soon (nowadays the most of them are grannies).
Diletta is instead quite uncommon but still youthful (infact it is increasing in popularity).Do you despise Carola?
I agree.
Carolina and Carola have a "cow name" vibe.
It is because after II°WW in Italy there were special advertisemets who were well-known because of their "nursery rhymes". Carolina was a cow in a mini-cheese-portion advertisement (I know this because of my granny who loves tell me this kind of things). But I think that Carolina is quite normal for everyone (I don't know how many people think immediately to the old advertisement but I suppose not so much also because Carolina has an aristocratic vibe imo).Augusto Aurelio Basilio Bruno Filippo Flavio Leone Luigi Stefano ValerioAnastasia Angelica Cassandra Clarastella Corinna Dafne Diana Dora Fiammetta Flora Gelsomina Ginevra Lavinia Luna Morgana Noemi Olimpia Perla Rosa Rossella Serena Stella Susanna
