[Games] Meet Annie and Robb
Meet Annie and Robb! Annalise May “Annie” (11) and Robert Bear “Robb” (9) are siblings from Baltimore, Maryland, who have been in our care for about a year now after their parents fell prey to the growing opioid crisis (their mother overdosed and their father is in and out of treatment). Both children have some trust issues from the ordeal and while they have been in our care they have tended to rely on each other rather than let other people in. However, we are sure that they can get past these uncertainties with some counseling and a loving home. They attribute their religion, Greek Orthodoxy, to helping them get through the trials and tribulations life brought them and they both are very devout. Of the pair, Annie is the book-smart, creative one. She loves to read and paint and will sometimes sit still for hours, simply thinking. This tendency to have her head in the clouds has sometimes led her to not accept reality, something which Robb has always tried to protect her from. While he doesn’t have as good of grades in school, he is very smart and down to earth. He enjoys playing sports, especially football (when he first learned that his new dad is an NFL player he thought it was too good to be true but now he’s just extremely excited about it) and basketball, and he likes building stuff in his free time. We think that their traits make them a good fit for your family and we are sure you will love them as much as we do.Please keep us informed during the children’s transition into your household. We would love to hear from you.

It's been six months since Annie and Robb moved into the Alexopoulos household.Although Winnie was worried that she would have problems nurturing her maternal gene, she fell in love with Annie and Robb just as quickly as Doron did. Winnie has opened up about her struggles with anxiety to them and not only convinced them to try therapy - which really helped them with their trust issues - but has taught them coping techniques. Winnie has taught Annie to paint to UNDERSTAND and cope with her feeling she rather than escape them, and Doron is teaching Robb how to play football like a professional. Doron and Winnie have decided to homeschool them, figuring that since both of them are home for the most part, they will have more opportunity to teach and be around their children. The transition from two people to four people was surprisingly easy, and everyone is very happy!
