My sister is named Leona although she has gone by her mn (Dale) and then by a nn for most of her life (Penny). She never cared for Leona and neither did I (that long o sound). The funny thing is that I adore the other version of the name, Leonie. I love, love, love it. I also like Fiona which doesn't really make sense since the stress is still on the o.
