I think it’s cringeworthy, personally. Naming a child after places seems pretentious to me, and naming them after places you’ve never been or have no connection to seems even worse. Plus these names would never be used by anyone actually from Ireland, Holland, or Scotland. They scream “suburb-dwelling American trying so hard (and failing) to seem ‘worldly.’”*previously posted as summitseeker*
