A very attentive father, he learned how to bottle feed the babymandnchange her diapers. When Anaïs turned two, Jay decided to potty train her, while Lydia took a backseat. Jay's parenting method was so hands on and he always treated Anaïs with such gentleness and respect that Lydia couldn't help but fall for him all over again. Their actual relationship began a lot as their unconventional little family had. One night after putting Anaïs to bed, the two had a few glasses of wine. In her wine drunk state, Lydia couldn't keep her hands to herself. Always touching some part of Jay, she ended up kissing him. Things just happened naturally from there, a much gentler turn of fate than the heat of their first hookup. The next morning, Lydai asked Jay out on a proper date. Due to already having a child together, their relationship moved fast. Within three months, moved in together officially. Within five months, Jay proposed. On their six month anniversary, Jay and Lydia got married. They kept their wedding small. After all, they had a three year old daughter to take care of. Lydia's sisters all came with their families and Jay invited a couple friends. Despite its size, the wedding was still beautiful. When Lydia discovered that she was expecting their second child, she cried as told Jay the news. "We're having another baby!" she told him, tears of joy streaming down her cheeks. And this time they had planned a baby. Ever since their wedding, they had wanted another child, but it took them two years to succeed. The planning and preparation felt more natural than preparing for Anaïs ever did. Camilla kept track of her relationship with Marcel like this:
•Anniversary of their meeting: Sidonie's first birthday (they ran into each other at the bakery)
•Anniversary of their first date: Sidonie's first day at daycare (Marcel suggested the one he was using for his then three year old daughter and they used the opportunity of both children being away to have lunch)
•Anniversary of their first hookup: his daughter, Victoria's, fourth birthday (Camilla caught baby fever watching the little ones playing at Vicki's birthday party and after the kids all left and Vicki and Sidonie had gone to bed, Camilla and Marcel let things just happen naturally)
•Anniversary of their first time apart: Camilla's birthday (Marcel had to go out of town to meet with a client, a budding new musician, to discuss the next steps, and Camilla onky wished Marcel had been around to celebrate properly with her)
•Anniversary of their moving in together: Sidonie's second birthday (Marcel noticed how much time they spent together and how well Vicki and Sidonie got along and suggested maybebtheir next step be moving in together) Ever since moving in together, Marcel and Camilla travelled across Europe with their daughters, meeting with Marcel's clients and finding new ideas for Camilla's next piece. Vicki and Sidonie both loved the thrill of moving from place to place, both parents homeschooling them when they had the opportunity. Their learning was very hands on, learning about whatever Marcel or Camilla might be doing that day. Camilla's relationship with Marcel did have its bumps. Sometimes one or the other would have to go away suddenly and leave the other with the children. Sometimes Camilla swore Marcel had his eyes on other women. Sometimes Marcel thought Camilla felt more distant. Sometimes they argued, as any couple would. But in the end, Marcel and Camilla loved each other and they would always come right back. Harper and Cal hardly expected to welcome another child when Primrose was only a couple years old. When their daughter Clover surprised them at birth, Cal nearly had a heart attack. Two babies? Three children under the age of three? What were they thinking? What happened to waiting until Primrose was four or older? Why did it have to be twins? How did the doctors see Ziggy but miss Clover? Cal had a slew of questions that, fortunately, the doctors and his wife were able to answer for him. Whereas Cal's gut reaction was panic, Harper sobbed with joy. A son and a daughter! Twins! She had the privilege of raising children she hoped would become fast friends and supporters of each other. It reminded her of her own childhood and Lydia and Camilla. Besides, she had secretly wanted another child already. Baby fever and maternal instincts were strong with her. For a few months after the twins' birth, Harper didn't touch her painting supplies. Who had time with a toddler and twin newborns? But as the twins got older and started to cry less whenever she put them down, she began to reintegrate painting into her life. Her creativity surged stronger than ever, taking inspiration from all three of her children. Sometimes, when the kids got bored, she would allow them to paint something first and she would turn it into a masterpiece later, signing it "H. McCrory and little loves." Her "Little Loves" paintings became a hit. They sold faster than any pieces she ever did by herself. Though some would have discouraged her from continuing her career after having children, saying it would ruin her career, having children instead boosted her career. Double blessings.
