All the mn's I suggested were honoring.
Leona is a distant family name for my husband. My name is Marisa and both my mom and my husband's mother's name starts with the letter L so Larisa could honor all three of us. Mariela would keep with the tradition of using Mar- names on my mom's side of the family. In the family we have Maria, Marie, Mariana, Marian, Mary, and Marisa (me). My great grandmother on my father's side of the family was named Ella. I like that the spelling Mariela works in Spanish and English. I also like the spelling Mariella but it doesn't work in Spanish. I go back and forth about using a Mar- name as a fn or a mn. I like Marguerite, Marceline, Marcela, and Mariela.
