My daughter's middle name is the feminine form of my husband's first name. And it is a family name for both genders on his side. I did not incorporate my own name. But I might have considered it. My middle name is pretty generic, which I hate. So I wouldn't use that. My own first name rhymes with my mother's. Apparently that was unintentional, though. Maybe Freudian, I wonder? I do know a Pauline who named her daughter Paula.
