I'm not understanding the statements from a couple of posters below that they don't like the "wheeze" part of Eloise. To me, there's no wheeze sound. I'm American so maybe that's why?Anyway I think this is a beautiful, underused name. I wouldn't be surprised to see it become much more popular. It has an old-fashioned charm and the El- sound so many seem to love right now.

I also don't pronounce Louise or Eloise with a WHEEZ sound. It just sounds like LOO-eez or ELL-o-eez. It's possible to not have a WHEEZ in there. I personally don't really understand where the W would come from.
