I like it better than Evelyn. Evelyn seems retro to me, but not in a chic way ... goes with Carolyn and Roslyn and Jerilyn and Marilyn and Sherilyn. And Kathryn.
Evelin suggests the pronunciation Eve-Lynn, and I like that much more than the three-syllable pronunciation. But if it's still Ev-a-lynn, then Evelin looks more modern and spiffy to me than Evelyn does, by far.
I even think other alt spellings improve Evelyn ... it's getting rid of that kitschy looking Y, that makes me happier with it.
