I think it's very pretty. However, in the US, it is very strongly considered a name for black girls, and a non-black person using it would look foolish at best and insensitive at worst. I understand in the UK and Australia the name doesn't have this association. Also in the US, it is quite dated to the seventies and eighties. A lot of "black" names seem to have a very short shelf life; Ebony, Tamika, and Keisha for girls; Jermaine, Darnell and Marquis for boys, they all date very narrowly to the same time period.
