[Facts] Re: what's in a name?
Teneil is an existing name (although not appearing in this database), and yours must be a variant of it. In doing a brief search on www.google.com I found that it is also a popular name to give to (usually female) fictional characters in role-playing games and the like. I'm not immediately familar with captain Teneil (but I believe that must be the correct spelling you're named after, since "captain Teneil" often figured on the search results); if this captain is male, a good bet is that your name is an attempt to create a female version of it: Tenielle.I'm sorry I couldn't find the name's origin and meaning. I suppose it *could* share a common ancestry with Danielle, but that's just a wild guess. Another is that it might mean "daughter of Neil" in some old rural dialect of English or Gaelic. Those are just guesses, however.- Tue
