[Opinions] Ferdinand wdyt?
I have always liked this name, more so lately. Thus I would like to ask your opinions on a few things...Do you think it is usable in Western Culture (Australia)? Or would the child be an object of ridicule? Is it what would would call a masculine name?Is the nn Ferdi/Ferdy too effeminate?I am not pregnant, but would it match with Claude and Georgette in a sibset?

I've always liked Ferdinand. The historic images it conjures up only enhance its value for me. Is it usable? Well, I wouldn't have thought Sebastian was usable not that long ago. So sure, it's useable. I think Ferdy is cute.

I think Ferdinand is very nice and usable, and the bovine pacifist association just makes it nicer.Ferdy makes me cringe, though!I might go with Fred or Nando as an alternative. The name fits well with Claude and Georgette.

I think...1) It would definitely match Claude and Georgette.
2) Ferdy is not effeminate, Ferdi is.
3) I don't like it, but that's only because in the collector Clegg tries to convince Miranda that his name is Ferdinand, and so I associate it with creepy stalker serial killers. I'm not sure most people have that connection, though.
