Keep in mind, if you're California, Angel is going to be pronounced the Spanish a lot of the time just because there are so many people are native Spanish speakers and Angel is primarily a Latino name.
At least where my kids go to school, a few of the teachers are native spanish speakers and insist on using Spanish pronunciations for students' names. That's something parents are going to have to start considering when naming kids if they live in the southwest.

Actually over here [as far as I know] Spanish and Mexican people say the name in English I've never heard them say it in Spanish.
