[Opinions] Favorite Scottish name?
Replies
My favourite girl's name is Davina which is the Scottish feminine of David. I also like Skye (after the Isle of Skye). Fiona used to be my favourite name. I've gone off it a bit but still like it.
For boys I love the name Keir. I also like Fraser, Rory, Ross and Callum. I consider Alexander to be very Scottish as it has been so well used in Scotland and it's one of my favourite names.

Lilias is a fairly new PNL-add of mine, and I just love it! I also like the Lileas spelling, and I can't decide which one I prefer. Alasdair (and some of its other spellings as well, besides Alister) as been high on my list for about a year or so, but it never seems to make it into any of my combos. I always try to suggest it to people on the bords though. I love Rory for a boy too. I think the double Rs make it sound so scruffy and masculine, but still sweet and poetic. I love, love, love the meaning of Tadhg, although I know many on here don't. :P
Isla, of course, I think is everyones' favorite. It's not a personal favorite of mine, but I do think that it's lovely. Recently, I stumbled upon Cairistiona [ka-ris-tee-ON-ah]. I'm not sure how usable it is, but I think it's beautiful. Ealasaid [el-a-SAZH] is a new find as well. Grizel is a bit of a GP of mine (so is Griselda actually, now that I think of it). Mairead is gorgeous, but to soft sounding for me to every seriously consider. Sileas is an interesting alternative to Cecilia (a name that I've been looking to honor) and I actually think I may prefer it. Una and Isobel are also very nice, although I don't have much to say about them.

Yay for Aileen!
I'm actually way more Irish than Scottish, but my grandmother is Scottish, so we went with this spelling. Plus, my parents think that the Eileen spelling just looks plain old stupid lol. Anyway, some of my favorites are:
GILS:
Bridget
Effie
Lileas
Mairead
Mairi
Sileas
BOYS:
Colin
Duncan (not crazy about the name, I just like the Shakespeare connection)
Evander
Ewan
Lachlan
Lennox (again, Shakespeare)
Macbeth (Shakespeare...)
Uilleam
