[Surname] origin and pronunciation
Does anyone know the origin and pronunciation of the surname Chmil (is it Russian?)? Thanks in advance.

Chmil seems to be either Czech or Ukrainian. It means "hop" (a plant).
Sorry, I forgot about the pronunciation.
Chmil: "KMEEL", riming with "wheel". The initial "CH" is more close to the final CH in the Scotish "loch" rather than to "K".
