[Opinions] Menashe/Freyde
For some reason, I got these two Yiddish names into my head and I can't get them out. I LIKE them. Right now, anyway. What do you think of Menashe (meh-NAH-she) for a boy with the nn Nash, and Freyde (FRAY-dah) for a girl?Combos?

There's a city in Wisconsin called Menasha. THat's the first thing I thought of when I saw Menashe. What do they mean?

Menashe means "causing to forget" and is the Yiddish form of Manasseh, who was the eldest of Joseph's sons. Not the best meaning, I know... Freyde is also Yiddish and means "joy." Way, way better meaning-wise, but I have no idea what nicknames I could use for this.

I don't have views on Menashe but I do on Freyde. It reminds me of Freda, which I don't think is attractive. If you're honouring someone, that's a different matter.
I much prefer Aliza, the Israeli/Hebrew equivalent of Freyde.
My favourite Yiddish girl names are Shaina or Shayna (prefer the y version) and Shaindel or Shayndel (again, the y version is my fave).

I adore Aliza and Shaina. Those are two of my all-time favorites. The reason I never ask about those is because I love them too much to bother with others!! Haha, just kidding. But I really do adore them both.

I like Nash, but I'm not too sure about Menashe. Freyde is interesting. I prefer Freya though.
