Help[Opinions] Ainsley
I was surprised to see that Ainsley is used on girls here in the US - just saw a female newsreader with that name on tv. I always thought of it as a male name in the UK.
Which are you more used to and which do you prefer - on a male or female.

The first time I heard of the name Ainsley was in Margaret Atwood's "The Edible Woman" (Ainsley was the best friend/roommate of the main character). The character was female, so I always thought of it as a feminine name.

I've only heard of one Ainsley, and that Ainsley was a girl. I'm also familiar with it from the year-or-three-long stage I went through in middle school during which it was my favorite name for a girl. I can definitely appreciate it on a boy, especially lately, but I think I'd tend to expect it to be a girls name if I heard it.

The only Ainsley I've ever met is a girl, but I don't like it on either sex.

I've rarely seen it, but I do love it for a girl.

I always found this masculine. I much prefer it on a boy though it's not one I'd use.
