I think both of them would make nice names for Leilani's mom. I think I'd go with Marina, Lorraina and Leilani are a bit too similar sounding.

Is Marinel a name? Do you like this name for Laila's husband? I chose Serena for Leilani's mom. I do like this name. Are there different ways to spell it?

I like Serena. There are different ways to spell it (Cerina, Serina) but I prefer Serena. Marinel sounds okay, but a bit feminine (Marinelle).
