In Canary Islands, where the name is originary from, in America Spanish speaking countries and in some areas from Andalusia the name is pronounced ['jajsa] (YI-sah), in Castilian Spanish it is pronounced ['jajθa] (YI-thah).

Aiza is a Basque name, not Spanish. The pronounciation is ['ajsa] (I-sah), but with the [s] as in English and not dentalized as in Spanish.
I always thought that Yaiza is pronounced as ['ajza] (I-zah), that how i heard it in the movie.
You wouldn't know then what name would pronounce like that. I like the sound of it.

Which movie?
If they are pronouncing ['ajza] that is completely wrong, not only because there is not [z] sound in Spanish but because the Y is never mute, but a consonant.

Movie is quite old, it were actually tv series. And i wouldn't be sure that how they pronounced it, but it's how i heard it every time they say her name. It was called Oceano. I loved the series and female character. And thought some day i'm going to call my daughter [ajza], maybe second one ;_), i called my first daughter Erika. So now i'm trying to find the name to the sound.
Thank you so much for all your replies, i wouldn't like to take original name and pronounce it the way i like it, cause that would be wrong.

I don't know if this helps you, but here we pronounce Isa, short for Isabel(la) as aiza. It's not really used as a name in it's own right though here, and I think in Germany and Scandinavia where it is used on it's own it's pronounced ee-sa
