Harris has been very popular in Scotland in recent years. There's a tiny island of the name, so it fits in with others such as
Skye,
Iona,
Islay. The island also means I see it less as a surname - my father goes hill-walking round these regions so to me it's very place-namey.
I do quite like the name as an alternative to
Harry /
Henry, and to
Harrison which I find trendier.
