I don't like Marie very much either. It's the kind of name most people put on a dump cart for middle names, along with Renee.
I love Mary, and I like Maria, if used as a German name.
Out of your combos, I only like Maria Catherine.
Personally I think that when people use Maria, they should go for a German combo (unless of course they're Hispanic or Italian). My favorite combos are...
Maria Theresa/Theresia
Maria Magdalena (this is the one I would use)
Maria Margarethe
Anna Maria
Maria Augusta
Henrike Maria
Frederike Maria
Maria Frederike
Henriette/Henrietta Maria
Maria Wilhelmina
Caroline Maria

Ah I'm ItalianBut Maria is a variation used in many many more languages than those three. I don't like German names much, I think of Latin when I think of Maria actually. Part of what I like Maria is that it can be quite universal.I like:Maria Theresa/Theresia
Maria Magdalena (I'd use this too)
Anna Maria
Maria Augusta (Not a huge fan of Augusta. I do like Maria Augustine though)

Yeah, I like Maria in the Latin context too...that's the only other way I like it, really.
In that case, I also like Maria Antonia.

Which is also a quite traditional Southern German name. ;-)
Make it Maria Antonie and it's even more traditional (and quite dated)Sorry, I went off-topic here.

Maybe, and as much as I like traditional and dated, Maria Antonie doesnt flow as well.

Antonie is pronounced almost the same as Antonia, if you say it in German.

Yeah, but still...Antonia would look better in America, and although I am very proud of my German heritage, I don't want a feminine name that in English looks like a weird variant of Anthony or Antony.
