I know a young woman who kept the name of her child secret until the birth. Imagine my delight when they announced little Haddasah Josephine (named after Dad's mn Joseph) had arrived! They call her Haddie. In my imaginary reality, I would have used a different mn and saved Josepha ("jo-SEF-uh") as a sister to Hadassah. Perfection.

It's such a cute name, I have an 8 year old neighbor with this name. Hadas looks too close to Hades for my tastes but it's still nice. Can't say I'm too fond of the nickname Haddie / Hadie though so I'd probably keep Hadassah as a middle name.

I like Hadassah more. Hadas just seems incomplete somehow. I think Hadassah is wicked cool.

I adore Hadassah. It's my favourite Hebrew girl's name, and I think it's so gorgeous and feminine. Hadas is very pretty too, but I think I prefer Hadassah.

I don't like this name at all; I much prefer Esther (the Biblical Esther's Hebrew name was Hadassah, of course).
