After graduating in the top ten of her class, Lily went on to college and majored in English with a minor in music. In the second semester of her junior year she met Martin, a linguistics major who was in the same history elective as she was. The two hit it off and fell in love quickly. They married the summer after they graduated. Now Lily is working at a publishing house as an editor and Martin is a teaching assistant as he works on his masters degree; he wants to work in speech therapy. The two were ecstatic to welcome their first child, a baby girl they named Elizabeth Rose. Elizabeth is named after Martin's sister, who had tragically died a few years before when the building she worked in collapsed, and Lily's maternal grandmother Rose. Baby Elizabeth had a rough start in life, as she contracted an infection while in the hospital that nearly killed her. But she was tough and fought it off, and is now as healthy and boisterous a four-month-old as two parents could ask for. She looks very much like Martin now, but everyone says she will look like Lily when she is older. Both of their families are thrilled with the first granddaughter/niece and spoil Elizabeth terribly.
