It is my youngest sister's name. I love it- it is so elegant and strong. We call her Daisy for short but Peggy is quite cute too.

How is Daisy short for Marguerite? Or Peggy for that matter? I'm confused.

Marguerite is the French word for 'daisy' so it has been used as a nn for it in English speaking countries over the years. Peggy is a traditional nn for Margaret and how it came about is a little confusing but my best guess is Margie -> Maggie -> Meggie -> Peggy
...or maybe Marg -> Mag -> Meg -> Peg -> Peggy
