[Opinions] Re: Daniel
in reply to a message by Lilac Wine
If I'd had a second son, he'd have had Daniel as a name, and quite possibly as a fn. There was a tradition in my husband's family to name one son with an H- name plus Daniel as a mn, and call him Daniel, Dan etc. Their taste in H- names wasn't mine (Harold and Horace spring to mind) but since they weren't used, it hardly matters! I'd also have used Thomas, after both my grandfathers.
Daniel is a very versatile name, and never likely to drop off the charts; but it's popular for a good reason, unlike some of the trendies.
Of your suggestions, I like Francis and George, but I'd use it as a fn.
