None of the above. I think it's a very regal, dashing name. Mostly because I associate it with the character from Final Fantasy III. I think it's a great image and association, and it's the reason I like Edgar! I think it's exactly the sort of name that seems so grown up on a little boy as to seem cute, if that makes sense. So it definitely would still work as the kid gets older.
