Hero seems so masculine to me because the feminine form is heroine. And it also makes me think of that awful Mariah Carey song of the same name. OTOH, Hera is gorgeous. It may have the same meaning (it's uncertain but could be related to 'hero') and she wouldn't be teased. The name seems loaded to me. Talk about pressure to conform (or perform, in this case)! ;-)
