[Opinions] Re: Names from Cocteau Twins' song titles - WDYT?
in reply to a message by Alcyone
I've never heard of the Cocteau Twins, but I love their style in names. :-)
Love: Lorelei, Persephone, Hazel, Pandora, Beatrix, Phoebe, Ella, Evangeline, Alice, Ivo, Aloysius, and Bluebeard (as a GP or pet name)
Like: Violaine (more information could bump it up to "love"), Amelia.
Had Cicely been Cecily and Otterley (m) been Ottilie (f), then they would also have made the "love" list.
I get the same "melanoma" associaiton that you do from Melonella. :-/

I love their style in names as well. Lorelei and Pandora have been favorites of mine for a while.
Violaine caught my eye too. From what I've read, it's a variant of Violet. There's a French singer named Violaine (born Violaine Pilzer), and there's also a French woman in the fashion industry named Violaine Bernard. I came across other French Violaines as well when I ran a Google search.
Perhaps you'll like the name "Violaine" even more after listening to the song. I also recommend "Alice". Grooveshark has a decent number of their songs as does YouTube. It's gorgeous music.

Violaine
A French woman in the fashion industry named Violaine? That's all I need to put Violaine on my long list and elevate her to "love." :-) I just needed to know that it had some history of meaning to it. Thanks!
