To me it can be put in a category with Brandy and Crystal... a 70's style name that I picture on a girl/woman from a working-class or lower-middle-class family. I think it is weaker sounding than Brandy and Crystal, though, I guess because of the images (of mist, and of weeping or reverie).
I hear Johnny Mathis singing, also.
I don't really like it. It also reminds me a little of Missy (nn for Melissa) which has always seemed childish to me. I haven't ever met any Mistys that I can recall. If I had, I might not feel so negative about it.
