I think it would be an unexpected, pleasant surprise these days. Imagine a Nancy among a sea of little girls named Isabella and Sophia - now, that would be cool. The name itself isn't really my style, but I like it for someone else. It sounds like the name of a friendly, well-organized person.

It's ok. It doesn't feel overused in any generation enough to feel particularly dated. I know one near my age and one a decade older... and another who's prob'ly in her 60s... and went to elementary school w/ 1 a grade behind me. It feels kinda boring to me, but not horribly so and I'd rather meet a little Nancy than have the child inflicted on some of the more overused names of our time.

I love the name Nancy, but I have a good association with it. I was given the mn Kate, after someone named Nancy Kate. I've always thought it was a beautiful name though and would be so excited to meet a little girl named Nancy.

I have met a young person named Nancy! She was about ten at the time. Her younger sister was named Phoebe. Personally, I found the name Nancy cute and refreshing on a little girl. However, it is also my grandmother's name, so I might be biased.

My mother's name is Nancy so it would be kind of weird, in a good way. :-) Her real name is Anna but she's always gone by Nancy. Interestingly, my sister-in-law is also Nancy. She didn't know that her birth name is Ann until she was going through papers in the attic and found her own birth certificate. (!)

Anyway, Nancy has a retro feeling to it that I love. Meeting a little Nancy would be neat!

The youngest Nancy I know is probably about 12 or 13 by now. It's not uncommon today, it seems especially popular among Hispanics, as are Linda, Karen and Brenda, names that are generally seen as being dated.

I don't dislike Nancy, but I find it kind of blah, no matter the age of the person who has it.

I would jump up and down with joy. I love Nancy, I think it's adorable. I'd use it as a nickname because I think it's very sweet, but a bit too cutesy and dated to be on its own.

I wouldn't really have thought of it a few years ago, but I now have a lovely, ~18/19/20 year old friend named Nancy, so I think it's beaut.

Her name was Magil, and she called herself Lil, but everyone knew her as Nancy...

*Ahem* Sorry about that. To answer your question, I like the name. I used to dislike it because I knew a crabby Nancy, but now it's grown on me. It's bright and sunny.
