[Opinions] Jemmica
I overheard a mother calling her teenage daughter Jemmica today. I have no idea if this is the correct spelling, but that's what it sounded like. Thoughts?

I don't really like it.
I went to high school with a girl named Jameeka, who threated to beat me up on occasion for not lending her a pencil for math class. I didn't like the name back then and I definitely don't like it now.

Sounds like jam on pemmican.
Jennika is a not too unusual name here in Sweden, BTW.

When I worked at the mall, there was a man with special needs who couldn't pronounce my name, Jessica, and he called me Jemmica.
"We're stuck between Jenna, Jemma and Jessica. So we'll mash 'em up." I knew a Jenica, pronounced like I assume Jemmica is pronounced, and I also knew a Jamika, pronounced Ja-MEE-ka. I don't find it at all attractive.
Jemima collides with pemmican.
More charitably, perhaps she was shooting for a glitzy, blingy update on Jessica. If so, she missed!

It sounds like someone is trying to Jamaica in a really bad Jamaican accent.
Also, a really bad way to try to make Jemma more unique.

It's weird and sounds made-up. What would her nn be?. Jem? Makes me think of jam.
