I admit I do tend to think of the court system when I see
Clemency, but the sound is nice. Personally, I prefer
Clemence and it's similarity in form to
Constance,
Prudence and
Patience, other "virtue" names I enjoy. As you mention, the ending sound is in line with
Clarence (and
Laurence and
Terrence, too) but I do think
Clemence, itself, feels feminine; perhaps knowing that
Clement is there for the guys feeds into that perception.
Interestingly, you've made me think about Constance/Constancy. As a first name, I can't imagine ever preferring Constancy but, in the middle slot, I can see where one might want another form to improve flow/sound in a combo, and the same would make sense for
Clemency too.
Of your
Clemency combos,
Clemency Opal is the standout for me; also like
Clemency Ruth. Of your female
Clemence combos,
Clemence Ophelia is my favorite (and I'm really wanting
Clemence Dorothy since I spied her below).
Rosemary Clemence is my favorite of your combos overall, followed closely by
Agatha Clemence. A few ideas for fun...
