I had a great-uncle by marriage with this name. When my sisters and I were young, we used to say "Uncle Egger" rather than "Uncle Edgar". So yeah, eggs. We also called his wife, Muriel, "Aunt Meereal" rather than "Aunt Myuriel". So eggs and cereal.
