Is that a Taser for lazy people? Or a La-Z-Boy knockoff?
It's actually a perfectly legitimate, if outdated, Yiddish name.
I don't like it either as a name to be used now or just based on the sound, but it reminded me immediately of the character Lazar Wolf from Fiddler on the Roof. I'm assuming she has some Russian/Eastern European/Jewish ancestry. (Although, with it being her great-great-grandfather, I doubt she knew him, so it may well have been picked because "Oh, cool. It sounds like laser!"
I think it's sorta weird:) although, perhaps since he was named after someone from quite awhile ago, maybe his great grand was pronounced something like Lazarus? So maybe instead of Lay-zer like we say laser, mayhap they pronounce(d) it Laa-zer ( short a as in cash)...
Just a thought. What do you think?

Ooh, one of those old names that sound like future names lol The similarity to Laser puts me off tbh, even if I find it cool, but it sounds more fitting for a space marine from 2230 to me lol
