Madison isn't the worst name out there, but it's not one of my particular favorites. The nickname Maddy/Maddie isn't too bad. Sorry you hate it so much! Do you have a middle name you could go by? Or even initials that could be a nickname, like MJ or MT? Once you're old enough, if you dislike your name that much, you can legally change it.
Also, if that girl wants to accuse someone of stealing "her" name, she should complain to her parents about giving her one of the most popular recent girls' names. Don't worry about getting ribbed on about your name or getting weird nicknames. It's probably happened to most of the people on here.
